Are you acting like the situations are even remotely the same? Last time I checked the Cubs have Bryant and Rizzo locked up for a good long time.

And even if the situations were the same and I'm sitting here putting 2 and 2 together and come to the realization that Byrant/Rizzo are likely going to end up with the Cardinals in a year and I have 5 teams throwing aggressive offers at me for them, one of which is the Cardinals with a top 5 ranked farm system, you better believe I'm going to leverage the other teams and bleed your shit dry.

And dont act like the Orioles couldn't decimate the Yankees farm system. The Yankees were already one of the best teams in the AL BEFORE they traded for Stanton. Now they added the NL MVP and you have one of the best players in the game at a position of need that you have no hopes of extending because if you did that shit would have been done before he reached arbitration. They are ready to win now and adding Machado makes an already ridiculous lineup fucking disgusting.

He'll always be my favorite player, but yeah, I've never heard anything good about him that didn't end on the field. One of my uncle's friends, who at the time was young and very pretty, met him in a bar while she was with a date back in the 70s. He got right between the two of them and started hitting on her. She said he was drunk, rude and had horrible body odor.

As much as I loved him as a player, I think if I ever passed him on the street I'd just keep on walking.

Or you could just hold onto him and get more at the trade deadline rather than give him to your rival.

Are you even following along?

How are they going to get more when you are dealing with one of the best farm systems in the game? You think the White Sox, a team that wont be contending, is all of a sudden going to throw their entire farm at the Orioles for 2 months of Machado?

Yeah I’m following along and I am almost 100 percent positive he won’t be dealt to the Yankees.

No shit he wont be dealt to them. That doesn't mean he shouldn't be traded to them.

They aren't going to find a better team to trade with and the only reason they wont trade him to the Yankees is because they'll get him a year earlier, even though the Orioles have no ****ing shot of competing for that year. It's one of those rare situations where it actually makes perfect fucking sense to trade a player to a rival because the Yankees, like the Cubs were a couple years ago, are a contending team with a LOADED farm system. Who has a better farm? White Sox and Braves? Anyone else? Neither of those teams are gonna be holding out to see if they will be competing for the playoffs at the deadline to come in and blow away the Orioles with an offer.

White Sox look like they would probably just flip him back to NY so that’s probably a no go. Cardinals could be the next best option so deal with it.

The Cardinals are only a better option if you are shortsighted and stuck only on 2018 and not focused on the future.

How easy would it be to go to the Yankees and say the Cardinals are offering ABC and the White Sox are offering XYZ and tell them if they want their WS ring its going to be Torres + Adams and beyond? There's nothing the Cardinals or White Sox are going to offer thats going to beat that.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Philadelphia jump in the Manny sweepstakes.

I’d like to know the offer before I make that decision. I’d probably be open to Weaver but hesitant with Reyes. Definetly a no to having both unless he’s willing to sign an extension.

I don't know why anyone would be hesitant to trade from a position of strength to acquire one of the best players in baseball and have 1 year to woo him over and convince him to sign a long term deal with the inevitable buy out before hitting 30.

Putting way to much stock in a prospect when a proven asset at age 25 is staring you in the face.

Now, with Meathead in charge, I don't think we can get the same FA's as we once did. Marchado is going to be able to go wherever he wants to go. I just don't feel confident in the resigning to give up so much for one year.

Ya well you immediately disqualify your entire post in the first line saying that the Cardinals wouldn't be a contender with a lineup of

Carpenter
Fowler
Machado
Ozuna
Pham
DeJong
Wong
Molina

The only way thats not a contending lineup is if half of it face plants.

The Cardinals were what 4 games back from making the WC without Ozuna or Machado and thats without any of the proposed pieces in a Machado trade having any meaningful contribution last year? So you are saying those 2 players dont give you at least 4 wins? What math are you using?

Rays fan buddy says he and most fans are hearing that the Cardinals offered Reyes/Kelly/Hudson/Grichuk and a A level OF for Archer/Colume/Longiria

But The Rays think they can get a better deal by dealing them individually.
