The defensive lapses and general sloppiness are inexcusable.
Loading up on pitching only works if you have the defense behind it to take advantage. Doesn’t look like Matheny fixed how sloppy his teams are defensively. [Reply]

Our defense is horrible. One of the big reasons why we are in the position we are in. [Reply]
If this shit continues Matheny won’t last long and it will probably cost Moore his job (which will make many of you happy and will possibly work out well as long as they don’t hire an idiot to replace him).
It also gives them a chance to #GetKilledForKumar
1/2 back of Texas, even with Boston, Pittsburgh [Reply]

Wouldn't you just basically look at the Padres front office that and the Astros would probably be my first place looking for guys. [Reply]
It's weird how Dayton has always valued defense so highly, more than most people, and it's paid off and been a good thing... but sometimes this team looks just like the sloppy Cardinals teams at the end of his run there. That just doesn't play well in our ballpark. [Reply]

If that happened, I wouldn't be shocked if Sherman looked at the Indians given he came from there, and they definitely develop players. But no one really knows. [Reply]

They do...that's not a bad thought either. [Reply]

His love for “his guys” comes before his philosophy at times. The cost-cutting maneuvers he did to try to lock up Eric Hosmer (only for it to backfire and not work) show how far he’s willing to go for his people. [Reply]
