Right but Reid has never started a rookie at LT. So the draft pick would be the one setting.

If you were taking a 1 year deal hoping to parlay it into a big payday when the cap rises, would you join a new team with a new scheme and have to learn all that in a covid offseason, or would you stay with the same scheme, the same city and focus on improving your game while not having to take two steps backwards first?
What you're seeing is players being smart enough to understand that they have better odds of success in 1 year deals if they improve on what they know already, rather than blowing it up and starting over, especially in what will be another irregular offseason.

Good, go post this on the Bucs board, and BTW, stay there. [Reply]

Were they able to come to terms yet with the same refs who helped their playoff run? [Reply]
He likely won’t sign till after the draft unless someone blows him away with an offer that exceeds all others significantly.
His agent knows that after the draft, someone will be desperate and overpay him after missing out on a LT in the draft. To be completely honest, I’m not really that interested in signing him. He’s the Sammy Watkins of left tackles.
I’d rather let the kid we draft play next to Thuney and spend the cap space on another offensive weapon. [Reply]
It says an awful lot that Andy, EB and Nagy had to design plays specifically for Mecole bc he still struggles running routes. And that was with Robinson here.
We’re drafting a WR early. I don’t see how they wait til round 3 [Reply]
