Exactly. I tore my ACL and when talking to the orthopedic surgeon, I told him I thought I had felt my knee dislocate.. He chuckled and said, nope..
If I had dislocated it, I would have torn multiple ligaments, plus there is a risk of rupturing major blood vessels if that was the case.
