Nzoner's Game Room>****Official Golf Thread****
'Hamas' Jenkins 10:08 PM 02-07-2015
The original Bushwood thread is overflowing like Craig Stadler's FUPA.

Use this thread to discuss tournaments, swing thoughts, equipment, and golf deals.

I thought we could also use the OP to create a WITB for ChiefsPlanet members. I'll list a poster's name and put their sticks in a spoiler tag, so you can see what everyone is carrying.

Some kind of impressive finish after a terrible 13 holes.

Not even close. Jean Van de Velde blew a 3 stroke lead by scoring a tripple bogey of the 1999 Open (he stupidly insisted on trying to hit out of a stream rather than dropping); or Greg Norman blowing a 6-stroke lead in the 1996 Master's are much worse than this would have been, had Speith not put on that clinic at the end today.

EDIT: Corrected the title of the 1999 tournament.

A few things here:

It was at the Open, not the USO, VDV did not hit a shot from down in the berm, but he got in it, and the ball was there only because of one of the worst bounces in golf history.

I think his mistake was not just pitching out of the rough instead of trying to hit over berm.

1) Forgive my typo...I know it was at The Open and mistyped it.

2) I'm old and have CRS...all I know is that he really blew it on that hole.

Vdv could have hit 2 6 irons and a wedge and made bidet to win.

It was a terrible mental lapse but he did get fucked with a terrible kick off the grandstands

He hit driver off the tee, which was stupid, but he got away with it. That might have been his biggest lapse of the hole. I've only seen a bounce like that happen one other time, with Mickelson at Augusta, hitting his tee shot on the 4th off of them into wooded death in 2012.

Iirc, it hit some metal shit in there and came straight backwards.

He was playing to win and it was a defining moment tho

I said it would have been the worst choke since Spieth's 2016 Masters. Obviously there have been worse overall.

Over/Under on Spieth majors by the end of his career? Does he reach Watson's 8?
