Can't get it up here north of the border but, through a wine distributer I am able to order a case. Would like to hear from someone who knows their stuff and has tried it before I order.

I know Lew was just flipping me shit, which is no big deal. That said he's definitely one of the more opinionated bourbon drinkers itt that assumes he knows what people should like/not like - which I always find a little comical for sure. [Reply]

I have opinions on the various bourbons I collect, but I don't give advice on what people should/should not like. Just like beer, not everyone has the same taste buds, so things taste differently.
I've got a bottle of Jefferson's Ocean at home, it's a perfectly good bourbon. Nowhere near my favorite, but it tastes just fine going down. [Reply]

I have a bottle as well that is an ounce shy of full. I always seem to reach for a different bottle.
Like you said, Bourbon is like wine/beer - people like different things. [Reply]

Same.
But, for the person that just has a bunch of Well bourbons sitting at home, that Jefferson's Ocean would taste damn good.
Has anyone heard about their liquor store's starting to receive their allotments for the fall season? In KS/MO, store's usually start receiving the higher-end stuff around Nov 1. The store I shop does a lottery for those bottles.
Hopeful to get my hands on any of the following this year: Old Forrester Birthday, Four Roses Limited Ed Small Batch and anything from the Buffalo Trace 2019 Antique Collection. I'd also take an Elmer T Lee 100 Yr Tribute if I find one.
Just recently came across a bottle of Michter's 10 Yr Single Barrel and a friend gifted me a bottle of Pappy 10 Yr. [Reply]

I collect bottles of bourbon like Prison Bitch collects Gay Porn. I'd guess I have about 20+ different bottles on hand right now. Some of them I have purchased, and others I have received as gifts. The Jefferson's Ocean was a gift that I popped open last night. I've had much better tasting Bourbon's in my life, but to be honest, it tasted pretty good last night :-) [Reply]

In that case, you would have 100's of bottles. [Reply]
Speaking of collections, I just realized I've never posted mine. This is what's regularly out, plus I have some spares of Blantons, McKenna, EH Taylor, Wathens and Eagle Rare stashed.

I won a bet with a coworker on who would win more games this year Cards or Cubs so he owed me a bottle of decent whiskey. I told him Woodford Reserve would be fine.
He got me a bottle of the double oaked and I have to say I like the regular better. Its a bit much, but it will get drank. [Reply]
