To me this is like the Cousins/DC deal. They told Cousins to prove it, he did, now he's going to ask for big bucks.
At this point it isn't about what Cousins is worth, because some NFL team will be stupid enough to overpay him, it's about what it will cost to keep him...
They should have franchised him or signed him a year earlier. You never want to sign a player at his peak. If they would have franchised him, They could have had him at a lot less because he's proven he can't stay healthy. [Reply]

What? Proven that he can't stay healthy? What?
The guy had a severe ACL issue that took far longer to repair and recover from than initially diagnosed.
That's not his fault, nor does it make him "injury prone".
And "a lot less"? So what, you think had they Franchised him in 2015 and he couldn't recover in time for the 2016, they would have relinquished his rights and then re-signed him?
I heard some rumors that the whole Houston surgery thing played out weird. They wanted him to have it done at the end of the season but Houston wanted to wait.
Hiring Brett Veach would really be a nice transition. He was ready to be the #2 guy, however he probably needed another year of seasoning. Now is the perfect time for him.
He doesn't have to do much of anything for awhile. The draft is over, the team is set and coaches will make the cuts in training camp.
Veach has an entire season to continue learning the job and be ready for FA and the draft in the spring.
All of the scouts are the same, coaching the same and Veach is the same. I bet this is what happens. [Reply]
NFL Live saying Reid is the second best coach in the NFL behind Belichick. Some of you guys wanted to get rid of Reid. It amazes me the things cp says. [Reply]

I am not a huge fan of what the guy does on game day, but CLEARLY the guy can coach up players. Look at all the cast offs that have turned into legit players in KC... [Reply]

He's a great coach of players.
He's a B- play caller.
He's a D+ decision maker as HC in game.... [Reply]
