What happened in the first quarter of the HOU game was a fluke. The guys came out too amped up, they wanted too much to make a big splashy play. They were jittery.
That hasn't been Chiefs football for the last two years. Our guys haven't made a habit of coming out all hot and bothered and fumble-fingered. Last week was an outlier, not the norm.

Wow that was a guy I liked here.......however with the RB class he likely was going in the 2nd or 3rd so he probably thinks he can up his value. [Reply]
Kelce has been locked in for about 8 weeks now. That dude has matured before our eyes and is now pretty much everything you could possibly want in a football player.
If anything he has a tendency to grip the bat a little too tight at times. Those drops last week weren't because he wasn't ready. They were because he was just TOO focused. He was trying too hard instead of letting the game come to him.
And he deserves an immense amount of credit for getting out of his own head. Robinson never did - he started out doing the same stuff and just kept doing it. He never shook off the early yips. Kelce did and then some.
Down 24-0 and at the 20 yard line after his catch/run the dude stood up like he'd just won the game and was READY. He's going to make an impact this week.
Gronk has the 2nd most TD receptions in postseason history with 12. Kelce got a quarter of that in 1 quarter.
He’s so young too. He may be 30 but he’s played only 6 years now. He’s got a lot of tread left and will even be deadly when his speed slows down due to his incredible knowledge of route running and ability, understanding of defensive coverages and now to get open.
He’s got 5 as of today. I really think he could break that record in a couple years. [Reply]
