Knowing that was the original T-Rex from JP1, I said out loud in my Danny Glover impression " I'm getting too old for this shit" when she looked at the Raptor after taking down the D-Rex. the audience in theater were busting up laughing
Nerded out hard to the tidbits respecting the original.
Raptor concept with Pratt was awesome. I loved it.
Loved the concepts they had with the park.
Hated
Spoiler!
I like Jake Johnson and Lauren Lapkus, but the cheesy comedy was annoying. It's like the movie couldn't decide if it was more action or comedy at times. I like how Jurassic Park had a touch of comedy in a darker, more serious film.
The heel shit was pretty stupid. Rex would have eaten her in real life.
I would have liked to have seen how they got the park going and started it up, even if it was just 2 mins of the movie.
Why the hell was Dr. Wu in charge? The owner didn't even know indominus Rex's dna bc it was classified? Huh?

I wish they explained more pertinently if the Raptors were genetically modified to be more compliant ( instead of the collectively intelligent sociopaths in the 1st) because instead of running cheetah speed of 60-70 miles an hour they said in JW the Raptors ran around 50 MPH.

Wrong. I want to see what others thought about the movie, without knowing what happens. It's a $50 investment for two people, imax, 3d, popcorn etc.
Looking forward to seeing it this weekend. Was going to see Entourage first, but think I'll just wait until DVD for that. I mean, I'd rather see the popcorn flix in 3d, Imax etc rather than a dialogue driven movie. [Reply]

I often peruse movie threads on opening weekend to get a general consensus without being spoiled.
I think it's just a common courtesy to spoiler anything major for at least the first few days. After a week I'll stop using spoilers. [Reply]

Claire runs around the whole movie in her high heels--I mean really? Near the end there is a shot of her shoes, and she is running from the T-REX in heels.
The other thing that bugged me was the pod the kids were in.....once they got off the path...there was no way to automatically recall the pod? Anyone could have basically taken a pod on that ride for a joyride.
Saw it on a big screen with thumping sound...definitely the best way to see it.
My biggest problem with it was:
Spoiler!
way too many times that their communications cuts out. Just a sloppy number of times it happens that leads to someone ending up in danger
It's not a big deal, but there are plenty of plausible and more creative ways they could have dealt with it really easily. It's like they were told about this, and just said,
'' who cares - we're making a popcorn summer flick. "
It doesn't matter overall, but it was annoyingly easy to spot it repeatedly happening that it would take you out of the moment and being able to just enjoy the thrill of the ride. [Reply]
