Everything DJ said is correct. The organization has a habit of showing us something shiny with one hand while slapping us with the other. It really is just that simple. [Reply]

Marmol needs to distract from his bosses failings. So he did.
More people are talking about O'Neill's lack of hustle than Mikolas pitching like he belongs in AA with a new $40 million extension in his pocket, aren't they?
They're running cover and throwing a player under the bus to get it done. A player they don't intend to pay when he hits FA anyway so it's no skin off their ass if they blast him publicly.
He’s only got 25 players on the roster. He’s going to trash a different guy each week to cover for Mo? [Reply]
“I like Tyler O’Neill. I think he’s one of the most talented players in that clubhouse. There is a next step to Tyler in his career, and my job is to get him there,” Marmol said today. Agreed that it was important for O’Neill to be back in the lineup.

It's over with one tiny exception....no one in that clubhouse will ever trust Ollie not to air out their dirty laundry in the press. Any benefit of the doubt he had previously earned is shot in the ass. [Reply]
Guess Marmol is going to call out the players publicly all year.
Marmol on Flaherty's start: "He had the ability to minimize damage. It's the pitch count and not being able to go further in the game. We've been using the 'pen quite a bit. It's not just pitching out of trouble, it's being able to go a little deeper." #STLCardspic.twitter.com/ldhmHc4HK3

he can do it the normal way and not alienate the locker room. So why choose that way. This is the way to handle 2022 athlete's.
This is better from Marmol. This is probably what he should have said in the beginning.
As I was saying yesterday, the culture he wants to build is a strong one. But it is not easy to communicate and build that relationally into a diverse group of people. https://t.co/PV4Mz4PXLb
"It's a long season. Yes, Jack wasn't at his best tonight, but I have faith he'll get it turned around shortly. He's proven he can be a top flight starter. "

A+ work Mo, really earning that extension.
Meh, if it's still like this in June, then sure it's a dumpster fire. Not there yet, though.
Also, Mozeliak pretty much does exactly what DeWitt wants him to do, so I'm not sure he's bad at his job if his boss agrees with what he's doing. [Reply]

Sounds like DeWitt could save a nice chunk of change by just doing it himself like Jerry Jones. [Reply]
Jordan Walker extends hitting streak to start his career to eight games. Only one player in #MLB history since 1901 has been as young and started his career with a hitting streak as long as eight games.
Ted Williams.
Yeah, that Ted Williams had nine straight.#stlcards#HOF

Anything else worth talking about on this club right now?
You wanna place bets on Taylor Motter for comeback player of the year? Think ol Jack Lives Matter is gonna keep going out there throwing up zeroes while he can't miss bats and walks 6 guys/gm? [Reply]

Good point but the extreme build up and giddy anticipation of Jordan Walker being the next Stan Musial gives me some serious Oscar Taveras flashbacks. You jinxy bastards are going to get this kid killed before he even vests. [Reply]
