Gotta see if Gomber can stretch back out.
He doesn't have an arsenal that's traditionally more difficult for lefties, but some lefties just don't see LHP very well so even an 'ordinary' lefty presents wrinkles for a team like LA, who has a monster on their hands in a lefty Bellinger and a couple of guys like Pederson and Seager who are in key roles but don't see lefties terribly well.
Bellinger and Muncy don't really have splits (at least not this season) but it at least gives them something different to look at. [Reply]
La Russa’s use of the pen in the 2011 postseason is now the norm. You can win a short series with an ace two serviceable starters and a deep versatile bullpen. [Reply]

And Carpenter is 0-4 with 3 Ks.
He'd be a bad hitter in AA and might struggle to play his way out of A+. [Reply]

so he is a 2-24 rut for the last 120 games. Every once in a while he goes 2-3 or hits a home run. Don’t you see he’s nearing top 10 historical lists of Cardinal hitters. Come on man haven't you tasted his salsa? Tomorrow he starts his run of greatness. [Reply]

and we do have a good bullpen even with losing Hicks. Gomber should be good for an inning to in the playoffs. [Reply]

how does that not get you benched? He’s just lost. An embrassnent to himself and the team. He just needs to pack it in for the year. Try again next year. Maybe he will bounce back to semi normal like Fowler. [Reply]

I have never seen a player with such high peaks and low valleys. When he is off he cant do ANYTHING right and has been way off for a full season. [Reply]
