Nzoner's Game Room>Anyone here doing the E-Cig / Vape thing?
pr_capone 03:05 AM 11-17-2013
Thanks to my vape, I've had only one single cigarette in the past 3 weeks. I have zero cravings for them and I feel considerably better. In fact, I still have about 5 smokes left in a pack and just can't see myself smoking those... don't want to.

Even better... 5ml of juice, which costs $5, lasts me about 2 weeks meaning that I am spending less in the long run. I only smoked, at most, a pack a week... but still.

I tried the Blu E-Cigs but they were terrible. Trying to "smoke" out of one of those was like trying to take a hit off a joint that was rolled WAY to tight.

I'm using an eGo-V v2 mega battery with variable voltage control with a gravity tank.

Make the cylinder out of high quality clear plastic so can see how much juice is in each chamber and to help make the thing not look like an actual gun.

Alright listo,

Now for the $10,000 question.
Let's hear the skinny on the squonk mods.

I've never tried any of the bottomfeeder mods.

Oh I haven't tried one yet. I've been concentrating on mimicking a cigarette lately and I haven't gotten around to playing with one. Using a squonk box will most likely get me into rebuilding and I want to hold off before I go down that rabbit hole.

Sorry, still no squonk box, but I have a small update. The Kanger Tech EVOD Pro was lacking a bit for me with the 1.5 Ohm atomizer. It was fine when the battery was up around 4 Volts or so but it got too weak when the battery fell below around 3.8 Volts. I think falling below around 10 Watts just doesn't cut it for me. Also I dropped the thing at a weird angle and it fell, spinning, and landed right on the end of the drip tip. Of course it snapped off. Blah. So I ordered some 1.0 Ohm atomizers and some 0.50 Ohm atomizers, also a couple of restrictive airflow drip tips and latex battery sleeves. Apparently the 1.0 Ohm atomizers are rare (or in high demand) because I had to go searching for a company that offered them, and I placed an order from an unfamiliar company for them. Well I got everything I ordered from MyVaporStore.com in a timely manner and completely correct. But the other company, Element Vape, sent me the 0.15 Ohm CLOCC Temp Control atomizers instead of the 1.0 Ohm-which are not only too low but are incompatible with the EVOD Pro. Now I have to print out a shipping label that they emailed to me, attach it to something to ship the wrong shit back to them, and wait for them to receive it, then wait for them to mail me the shit that I ordered. Not a happy camper and I'll never use Element Vape again.

But...even though the 0.50 Ohm atomizers are a bit stronger than I wanted they aren't as bad as I thought they'd be. The new drip tip is actually pretty nice too. I got black aluminum ones that are flattened and have a tight draw. They feel a bit like the end of a pipe, or one of those Swisher Sweets with a wooden tip. I just take shorter puffs until the battery wears down a bit. I think the 1.0 Ohm atomizers will be perfect...in a billion years when Element Vape finally corrects their fuck up.

The Nautilus X tank is working like a champ. The 1.8 Ohm atomizer (I also have the 4 ml extension which puts a chimney between the drip tip and atomizer) is outstanding for mimicking a cig. Surprisingly good flavor even down at 12 Watts so my Sigelei 200 Watt+ with two 18650's lasts for days and days. I've had the same batteries (3000 mAh) in since Tuesday and I've had to use it as my primary this week up until early this evening. The thing is reading as still half charged. Pretty nice.

It's the only way to go.

I had one but sold it not long after. It was a mech mod and I dont care for the battery drain that comes with that. (a fresh battery starts out at 4.2 V and starts dropping from there, to keep the voltage you like to vape at you have to pop in a fresh battery or just accept the weaker hits/vapor/flavor as your battery voltage drops)

The squonk concept is cool. Always have a wet wick, juice supply on board. Dont know of any pre-built drop in coil bottom fed atomizers, so you will be rebuilding. I may give one another go at some point ,but it will be a regulated setup

I heard of the dripbox, but I never looked close enough to see it took pre built coils. Decently priced too.

Just noticed they have a regulated version. Id go with it if I was going to get one.

Hey, anybody here DIY vape juice? I just started and some of the recipes are really lacking any taste. I've read that you have to let the juice steep, but it's been over a week and I'm not seeing a lot of difference. Tried a couple of tricks to speed it along but still not big differences. Anyone else have this journey? A lot of the DIY sites say two weeks to steep but I'd think I'd have some flavor by now.

Thanks.

Sounds like it's still pretty rudimentary & needs some refining to get to the point that it's not more hassle than worth it.

If you buy a jewelry cleaner, you can speed up the steeping process. The ultrasonic vibration and medium heat helps by agitation.

I've had juices that were terrible flavors or completely weak, and if set aside for a couple months, were totally different and 1000x better.

The jewelry cleaner will mimic it rapidly of what would take a month or 2.

Basically, low level heat and vibration will totally accelerate the mixture.
I think I had read the one issue with doing it is that the heat degrades the nicotine, so you may have to add a bit more nicotine if it's too weak after you speed steep it. Not terribly tough, depending on the concentration of the liquid nicotine and the size of your batch, a few drops should get you right as rain if the nic level is weak.

Yeah, I'd read some of that too. I bought a candle warmer and put them in that but I don't think long enough...only an hour and shaking every 15 minutes. I guess I'll just put these away and stop obsessing. I keep trying samples...by the time this stuff is cured, I'll be out of them. Thanks for the advice.

Yeah. I prefer to be able to set my wattage. That site has worked really well for me over the years. They don't always have everything but they always seem to have decent prices and a wide selection. They've never made a mistake on my order, and they do free shipping for any order over $75.
