He's a five star PF with a midrange shot, and fills the exact hole in the roster.
Additionally, he would be able to join mid-December, and all reports are that it looks really good to happen.
This is fucking HUGE.
He was a top 5 prospect before not playing in summer games. He's dropped to 18 now, and Self says he thinks he's top 5 players in the class.
no one is questioning his top shelf bonafides.
He's not been practicing with the team. Self is just going to put a kid who should still be high school on the court for meaningful minutes? Since when has Self ever put a kid in like that? [Reply]

That is exactly what will happen.
Self has never had this situation so you can't ask when it happened. This will be huge for a myriad of reasons but initially at the very very least it is 5 fouls and some rebounding.
Having him be a backup big this year will help considerably. And to whomever asked who Cunliffe is and whoever said what happened with the bigs can you do us all a favor and actually follow the Jayhawks if you want to post here?
Self had two bigs leave the program over the summer after realizing they won't play much. Cunliffe is a 6-5 wing who can jump out of the arena.
If you seriously don't know then please look at his picture here:

Whats with this BS only "real" fans are allowed to post in this thread shit?:-)
Self knew those people who left were not going to get on the floor. He wasn't counting on them. This new guy who enrolled today may or may not help us. As far as I know there is no more help on the way. We all knew we needed inside help. I'm sure Self knew this too. So..... I dont think that asking the group in this thread why are inside bench is so thin is an off the wall, thats a stupid question to ask. [Reply]
He signed two guys to help with bench depth and they both left. So now Silvio will try to graduate early and help with bench depth. I am not sure why this is hard to understand.
don't get mad because you just found out what people knew for months. You don't have to be a real fan or whatever to at least pay attention before the UK game.
By the way even if Silvio can't sign on KU will be fine with the 3 bigs. Most teams don't have the depth Duke has. [Reply]

Self's quote today was that Silvio "could help any program the day he steps on the court".
He's not one to play guys who can't understand basketball (Diallo), but the kid could be brought along during the season and be ready to help in March.
This move is so rare that it's tough to know what will happen, and that's even before you consider that every recruit steps onto campus as a complete unknown. [Reply]

Never. I know you get enough of those already.
I don't think so either. Sounds like we are trying to do the opening day of the tournament at Twin Peaks again this year. I think you usually take that off anyway, so I'll throw out the invite. [Reply]

thanks for the civil and still informative post. I trust Self. He doesnt usually BS about a kids talent. He says he can play and help right away, I'm positive that's the way it will be. [Reply]

Eh, sometimes. He was either way wrong, or BSed us about Selby.
EDIT: I mean that through playing time. I don't recall him saying anything about his talent, but he kept rolling him the fuck out there. And the kid couldn't play. [Reply]

I've got a small group that watches here every year, but it's getting smaller as people have kids and become lame. And where I live now (downtown) you would think the tournament didn't even exist - one place we went and asked if they were going to show tournament games said "what tournament? like basketball?" Another place said she was too busy to worry about changing the TV, granted that was on St Pats. But that is Mizzou country, so I guess I can understand them not knowing basketball exists. [Reply]
