Projections for the weekend are now at 204 million--just shy of the record set by the first Avengers. Universal was projecting 100-125 million for the weekend.
That was a really fun movie. I really felt as though we were viewing a real theme park. They did a good job of making it look like an active functioning park.
Spoiler!
The whole thing with the kid supposedly being really smart was kind of pointless and forced though. It didn't really lead to anything at all.
Since there is some interest here, I want to share photos of my 1:1 Velociraptor bust from Stan Winston Studios. This was made in 1992 and the same molds were used to make the Raptors in the new movie.
Here it is when I received it. I intend to make a mold of it, and then have 5. I will have one painted in the original JP scheme and 4 painted as Blue, Charlie, Delta, and Echo.
I hated the militarization of Dinosaurs plot, you could've taken that out and the movie would have been better for it. other than that gimme Bryce Dallas Howard anyday :-) [Reply]
Once you ignored how laughably silly the park idea actually was. Like how the Mosasaurus just nonchalantly jumped up and out of its tank at the end. :-) Might have looked into that possibility at an earlier time...
