Our secondary looks very strong going into next year.
I bet we’re able to extend Breeland on an affordable 2-3 year deal.
That would give us Honey Badger, Thornhill (hopefully doesn’t lose a step), Ward, Breeland, and Fenton as our starters. Watts will be back as well I’m sure.
I assume we’ll draft another CB/S to add to the group and sign a veteran in the offseason.
I feel so much better about our secondary than I did at this time last year. The future looks great. [Reply]
When I saw Fenton drafted I thought this was the guy in the draft class that you go back and say wow I forgot about that guy did he ever play a snap?
Like a DJ White or a Sanders Commings or a Jalil Brown.
Man am I so pleased to be wrong. The only guy in this draft class who hasn't done anything yet is Nick Allegretti and that is the type of player who may need years and then surprise.
Allegretti is getting reps on ST and he had 2 rep on O as well. For a late round flyer that isn't bad. At least he's still with the team and contributing something. [Reply]
I'm holding out hope on him for sure. It takes time for linemen and especially centers. If he developed and was able to take over and play better than Austin Reiter that would be huge.
edit: Also his draft profile had a lack of upper body strength as a negative and maybe he just needs to power lift for like three years. [Reply]
