OK, the time has finally come... we have a new server!
I will be spending tonight and all day tomorrow transitioning to the new digs... I don't expect it to affect us until late tomorrow afternoon.
I will make give everybody a warning then take us offline for (hopefully!) 3-4 hours...
When we are done, we will have a new home with 6 TIMES the power and RAM as before... I expect to see some MAJOR upgrades in performance... once we have settled into the new server, I will start to prep us for a major upgrade to our Vbulletin software... but that may wait until the post season...
I know it's been a long time coming, but bear with me for a little longer and it will all be worth it! [Reply]
Just an FYI, the OLD server is going offline completely tomorrow... SO, we may see a few slowdowns today while I transfer old backups and misc. files over.
Once this is all done, I am diving directly into the new VB software, we should have a test site available within a week or so. [Reply]
OK, if things are laggy for the next 2 hours.. it is because of me... once this xfer is done, I will need to go back and scrub the old server to see if I missed anything... if I haven't then we are done! There will be a final DNS switch tonight but it shouldn't affect anyone. [Reply]
Is it possible that because the site keeps coming up as NOT SECURE in the browser bar that both Google Chrome and people's Anti-Malware software tools are causing very long load times?

if you just type https:// in front of the www. it will come up as secure and keep your settings. [Reply]
