The Rams big problem is they have a lot of $$$ tied up in Gurley who may never be the same player again and Goff who looks like an average QB without having Gurley at a superstar level. [Reply]
#Chiefs were in a bad spot in terms of what the #Jaguars wanted. Even if KC had offered two first round picks, the Rams picks would have been perceived to be a “safer” bet in terms of where they could eventually land. Chiefs had zero control over how their picks were perceived. https://t.co/C1D05eXU91
Yeah there's no way we should give up that many draft picks at this stage. Even if we did no one is going to believe they're going to be high picks as long as we have Mahomes. [Reply]

If it was the one thing that would make this a world beater Defense you might be able to make a trade like this, but I'd rather have the two firsts. [Reply]
Rams are setting themselves up for a precipitous fall:
“Next year, the team will spend nearly 60 percent of its cap on seven players, which doesn’t include Ramsey’s fifth-year option or potential extension.” [Reply]
I like what the Rams are doing, just because it makes the league more interesting.
I like the novel approach of thinking high priced known commodities are better than low priced end of the first round draft picks.
Short term, it seems like a good trade-off. Long term (even 2-3 years down the line) seems like a cap nightmare and a bigger age issue in 4-5 years. [Reply]

Unless they think all of this new money is going to expand the cap greatly.
If they're right and the new gambling money and new CBA cause the cap to increase something like 50-75 million dollars which could very well happen, they'll look brilliant as they will have acquired a young all pro with more than enough money. [Reply]

I agree, the only thing that I can figure is that they assume the cap jump is going to be even bigger than predictions due to legalized gambling. They are betting on the come in a big way... [Reply]
• One team I know would have like to have been in the mix that didn’t get a call from the Jaguars at the wire: the Chiefs. I’m told that Kansas City was very interested in Ramsey, but the Jaguars had no desire to send him there (both because it’s an AFC team, and their picks are likely to be very low). I also have heard that KC was right at the top of Ramsey’s list of preferred destinations. Ramsey gave Jacksonville five teams that he wanted to be traded to: the Rams, Chiefs, Ravens, Eagles and Raiders. [Reply]

Hm...sucks we didn't even get a call but unless Veach is truly stupid, no way we should have matched or even gave up more than the Rams did for him. [Reply]
