I watched it. It was pretty interesting. There was some good commentary from mainstream scientists and psychologists talking about how those ideas form and the impact one belief has on so many other ideas that you then have to account for, such as the government cover up.
The end had a few good moments especially with the science fiction writer talking about the allure of being a flat earther to become your own Disney protagonist, the Mark Sargeant guy confronting the idea he is the mayor in The Truman Show from his analogy and now has to believe it no matter what, and then of course the experiment not going too well for them. It's almost enough to make me want to grab their dumb asses and drag them around the world but I don't think I'd enjoy their company on the voyage. [Reply]

Antarctica is the wall holding all the water in as well. :-) [Reply]
I don't understand why people get so worked up over benign misconceptions.
Flat earthers could not be more wrong, but then Raiders fans could not be more wrong either.
It would be one thing if we as a society were faced with the threat of a flat earth caucus imposing some kind of flat earth inspired authoritarian regime. But it's just dumb people with dumb notions about reality.
It's no more threatening than astrology, or crystals, or believing that Himalayan salt lamps produce healthy negative ions.
It's considerably less threatening than anti-vaccine, or homeopathy, or centralized federal power. [Reply]

Now just imagine - these people have invaded CP DC forum (and are all right-leaning, if you can believe that). Now imagine that people take them seriously - knowing full well they think like this.

Blows me away.
I guess it's too much to ask for you to contain your socialist cuntiness to DC, isn't it? [Reply]
